New features for 2021
The 2021 Road Glide Special introduced several updates over the 2020 model.

Blacked-out or chrome options: Riders could choose between blacked-out or chromed-out styling for the engine, exhaust, and other components.
Standard safety features: The Reflex Defensive Rider System (RDRS), an optional feature in 2020, came standard. This electronic suite includes cornering-enhanced ABS and traction control, drag-torque slip control, and hill hold assist.
Cable clutch: Harley-Davidson reverted from a hydraulic to a cable-actuated clutch for the 2021 Touring lineup. This was an effort to resolve persistent oil transfer issues, though it was controversial among riders who preferred the hydraulic feel.
Updated finishes: New colors were available, including the popular "Billiard Teal" and "Snake Venom". The bike also featured a new console design and low-profile engine guards.
