2014 Harley-Davidson Electra Glide Ultra Limited
The 2014 Harley-Davidson Electra Glide Ultra Limited (FLHTK) was a top-tier touring motorcycle and one of the first models to feature the upgrades from the company's "Project Rushmore" initiative
. This update brought significant improvements to the engine, braking, ergonomics, and infotainment system.
Key "Project Rushmore" upgrades
Twin-Cooled™ High Output Twin Cam 103™ engine
: The Ultra Limited received a new air- and liquid-cooled 103 cubic inch (1,690cc) engine. The "precision liquid cooling" circulates coolant around the cylinder heads near the exhaust valves to reduce heat, especially in slow, heavy traffic. This allowed for a higher compression ratio, which boosted peak torque by 10.7% compared to the standard 103 engine.
Reflex™ Linked Brakes with ABS
: A new anti-lock braking system electronically links the front and rear brakes at speeds over 20-25 mph. This optimizes the brake balance for better stopping power, while allowing independent braking at slower speeds.
Redesigned fairing: An iconic "batwing" fairing was reshaped and tested in a wind tunnel to reduce head buffeting for the rider. It also featured a new vent to minimize turbulence.
Boom!™ Box 6.5GT Infotainment
: The new full-color touchscreen infotainment system included GPS navigation, Bluetooth connectivity, a USB port in a "Jukebox" compartment, and a voice-command function.
Other ergonomic and feature updates:
Daymaker™ LED lighting became standard, providing improved visibility with a brighter, more natural-colored light.
One-touch luggage latches were added to the saddlebags and Tour-Pak for easier, one-handed opening.
Heated handgrips were included as a standard feature.
A new hydraulic clutch provided consistent, low-effort engagement that did not require manual adjustment.
